The Continental IceContact XTRM (Studded) is the ultimate winter solution for Acura RDX owners who frequently encounter black ice, freezing rain, or hard-packed snow. This factory-studded version elevates the performance of the RDX’s SH-AWD system by utilizing specialized TriStar aluminum studs, which feature a three-pointed star head that provides multidirectional "bite" and significantly shorter braking distances on icy surfaces. To address the traditional drawbacks of studded tires, Continental employs a unique Stud Retention Technology—a chemical coating that bonds the stud to the rubber—reducing the likelihood of lost studs while improving ice grip by roughly 5%. Additionally, the tire is designed with integrated "crushed ice reservoirs" around each stud to prevent ice buildup from interfering with the metal-to-road contact. Despite its aggressive mechanical traction, the stud placement is computer-optimized to minimize the rhythmic clicking noise, allowing the RDX to maintain a relatively quiet and composed cabin even in the most extreme Canadian winter conditions.

Emergency Trip Interruption Coverage
Three (3) year complimentary service designed to help reimburse the eligible expenses resulting from a mechanical breakdown during a road trip. Tires must be registered online at www.totalconfidence-plan.com to qualify for Emergency Trip Interruption Coverage. Coverage is valid on replacement passenger and light truck tire purchases made on or after January 1, 2022. Limit $200.00 per day maximum benefit, and a total annual maximum benefit of $500.00.
